No matter where you're headed and why, a
good travel guidebook can help you make the most of your trip by acting as your
own personal tour guide. Choosing a guidebook to fit your needs can save you
time, money and headaches. A new edition of Guidebook to the
Cranbrook Region will be released by Travel Buddy Publishing in February. The
release date of the new edition, written by Shawn Green, a seasoned traveler,
has been set to coincide with the fifth anniversary of the first
edition. As Emily Foster from Travel Buddy Publishing explains,
"Over the last five years, the region has experienced some significant changes,
and we felt it was important to recognize them." Information about newly opened
places of interest, such as the Cranbrook Golf Resort, is now included. The
latest edition also provides more detailed information on old favorites such as
the Whistler Plantation and Panorama Bistro. In addition, the well-known local
artist, Amber Woods created a drawing that appears on the front cover.
The number of maps of the area's many hiking trails was increased. Also,
the author could make the contents more exciting since many residents from a
number of towns in the region donated snapshots from their own collections to
him. Says Yorkton Village resident Nicole Tucker, "My father sent in a
photograph of my grandparents that was taken in front of the Whistler Plantation
50 years ago. We're excited that it was chosen for the new edition!" Panorama
Bistro owner, Mike West notes, "We're thrilled to be included in the guidebook
again. Many customers who come to our restaurant while on vacation tell us they
would not have known about us had we not been in the guide book."
