Destination Is Another Starting Point

According to the dictionary, destination is the final point which means one can take a rest if he reaches the point. However, there is another interpretation about this word, that is, the finish line is also the scratch line. Standing on the finish line, you have already entered into a new stage which is more challenging and you have to pay more efforts. We can see this interpretation proved by people every day.

When an athlete is dashing towards the finish line, he thus becomes the campaign of the race. However, there are more races of higher level waiting for him and he has to work harder to become the winner. Every end is a new start. In this highly competitive world today, there are numerous challenges facing us every day. If people gloat over their past, however glorious it is, they will soon be left behind by the tide of the progress. Actually when we complete each task, there are yet more waiting for us. Therefore, people should take this athlete as an example and try to complete new goals. We should always be ready to take a new start. There are many examples in our daily life if the story of the athlete is far away from us. For instance, after successfully enrolling themselves in the universities, many students became slack and idle around. Many students are so drowned into online games that they often play truant and stay in front of computer for a long time. Consequently, they can’t acquire more knowledge and skills, which the future job market needs. What cause such result? It is because these students regard college entrance as an end, but they fail to recognize it is also a new start. By contrast, some students grasp all chances they run into in their universities and take part in many activities and forge themselves into better men. When confronted with the challenge of conquering the difficult graduate courses, they try hard to overcome those difficulties. What’s more, they still strive for success in their future academic study, employment and career. On the whole, they effectively clarify the saying that “Destination is another starting point.” Their life is much more fulfilled than that of those who take a little achievement as an end of their life.

In a word, we can’t be slackened when we complete one trivial thing. What we should bear in our minds is that life is short and we should take it seriously.
