Should College Students work in Rural Areas?
There is a common phenomenon in recent years that an increasing number of students are willing to go to rural areas to put their knowledge into practical use. Besides, the Chinese government has announced new policies to help students- turned village officials develop their career, in an effort to sustain the program that recruits college graduates to work in rural areas. This has aroused a heated debate as to whether college graduates should work in rural areas. When it comes to this problem, different people have different opinions. As far as I am concerned, it is a good thing to send college students to work in rural areas. The reasons are as follows.
In the first place, it can ease employment pressures because China now is facing a severe employment crisis. What’s more, it can enhance the development of rural areas. Last but not least, it can cultivate undergraduate students’ spirit of work hard and perseverance, especially those from urban areas.
From what has been discussed above, we may safely draw the conclusion that sending college students to work in rural areas is beneficial to both the country and individuals. So we ourselves as college students should support these new policies the government has announced.
