Inevitable Globalization in the Future
There is little room for argument with the statement that in the last few decades globalization has been very fast through the advancements in technologies and transportation. However, with the rise of unilateralism and protectionism, particularly fuelled by Brexit and the victory of Donald Trump in 2016 US president election, this seemingly inevitable trend now is confronting doubts and challenges. However, I disagree with the claim that globalism is detrimental to the economy of developed countries and the illusion of global village should be dispelled. It is indisputable that the pros of globalization outweigh the cons. Moreover, far from being eradicated, globalization will be even more prosperous in the future.
Initially, globalization is a win-win process from which entrepreneurs across the globe are benefited. Companies of the developed countries have established their foreign branches and taken advantage locally through the low labor cost
and vast market, which grants them high productivity and considerable profits. Meanwhile, this kind of business activities creates more employment to the local community. Therefore, globalization is a process in which both developed and developing countries are positively influenced. Additionally, considering the fact that both the Brexit referendum and the 2016 election are affected by many unexpected factors, the results of these two polls cannot truthfully reflect the wish of the voters as a whole. Therefore, the claim that globalization is declining based on two referendum is actually weak and not eloquent enough.
To conclude, considering the benefits of globalization to the world economy, more and more countries will embrace this tendency rather than escape from it. Therefore, it is indisputable that globalization will be still popular in the future.
