无The Naked Marriage
At present, one of the most popular catchwords is “naked marriage”. It refers to young couples finish their marriage without house, car, ring or wedding. Such a new marriage style has aroused netizens’ heated discussion. Around 57 percents of them support naked marriage, arguing that love is primary in marriage, and around 35 percents hold a pessimistic view towards naked marriage, thinking that material is the base of marriage. In my stance, I don’t support naked marriage and my reasons are listed as follow.
Firstly, marriage is not equal to love. In love, at most time, young lovers feel happy when staying with each other. They only quarrel with each other out of some trifle affairs, such as conflicts in an issue. Besides, they are independent in money and they have little divergence in money spending because they are willing to spend money to create many romantic occasions for themselves. But once they get married, the primary problem they have to face is money. And in marriage, lovers turn to be a young couple who have to learn how to build their family. If they married naked, those elementary affairs in family life, such as house, earning or education, which they escaped from before getting married have all come into their marriage life. They will feel great pressure and conflicts are easy to occur at such occasion. All in all, naked marriage only delays the occurrence of life burden but not remove it.
Secondly, naked marriage makes marriage seem much easier than before so that more young couples may hurry to marry before they have really prepared well for marriage. It is true that the traditional requirements for marriage, such as house and wedding are out of many young men’s offer nowadays, but these challenges can force young people to think clear before getting married. As to naked marriage, which can be simply achieved by young lovers, young men may fail to realize the hardship in building a family so that they may hurry to get married. Besides, young people always head for new fashions. And these points, in my mind, will cause many impulsive decisions. Impulsive decision in marriage will probably lead to a high rate in divorce. Thus, I think naked marriage can be regarded as one cause of more divorce in today’s China.
Finally, naked marriage reflects many problems, like house price rising and a value of money worship. As an individual, we can never change the situation of estate property. The idea of no house for marriage, in my mind, is showing one’s revolt to the current estate situation. But the reality is that, the house price will never lower because of our revolt. Thus I believe that naked marriage is only a way that young men express their discontent and it is an immature thought.
To sum up, love and material are both important to a successful marriage. In my mind, naked marriage bears too many hidden dangers and reflects the impulsion of young people. However, naked marriage has reflected many social problems, which, I think, should be paid attention to by our government and can only be solved by the government.
