Arthur Holdings has just revealed that it will be building three new shopping malls in Thailand, Vietnam, and Cambodia this year. The largest shopping mall developer in Southeast Asia plans to reserve $4 billion in capital for the project.
During a press conference for the company"s upcoming stock offering, Arthur Holdings president Francis Brewster said the new malls are part of the firm"s two-year development plans. Last year, the firm opened mails in Myanmar and China despite the gloomy economy.
Each of the three shopping mails will have an approximate area of 20,000 square meters. The malls to be established in Thailand and Vietnam will have convention halls and activity centers equipped with conference rooms, gymnasiums, bowling alleys, and movie theaters.
According to Brewster, funding will be derived from recently sold bonds amounting to $3 billion, foreign loans, and proceeds of the upcoming stock offering.
The president believes that Arthur"s notable achievements in the past year will help the company collect more capital when it auctions off new shares on Monday.
According to financial figures released by Arthur Holdings last year, revenues from its Singapore operations grew 15 percent, to $250 million. Moreover, profits went up 20 percent, to $175 million.
"Arthur Holdings has proven itself to be a strong company in Asia. Because of this, we are expecting more people to invest in our rapidly growing business," Brewster said.
