As an overseas student new to the ways of your university, I am most reluctant to complain. But, the fact is that the heating system in my room does not seem to be working properly. I have tried to find out what the problem is by myself, but, not being a technically-minded person, I have failed to do so.
As I am sure you understand, trying to study in an unheated mom in this cold weather is extremely uncomfortable. At night the temperature drops so low that it is almost impossible to sleep. On top of all this, I feel a bad attack of the flu coming on. I would be most grateful if you would send an engineer to fix the heating system in my room as soon as possible. I will of course be willing to pay any service charge involved. Meanwhile, if the problem cannot be solved quickly, I would like you to allow me to move to another room.
