(1) Post-listening activities: first, answering following questions based on the conversation they have listened: What’s the weather like today? What is the temperature today? Where is Betty from? Is it snowy in England in December? What is the weather like in New York in winter? What is the season in Australia now? Second, making a conversation like what they have heard within group and ask some groups to present their conversations in front of the whole class.
(2) Justifications of these activities: First, by answering these questions based on the listening material, students can have a detailed listening and whole understanding of the conversation on the one hand, and the teacher can have an assessment of student’s performance and decide whether to replay the conversation. Second, by making their own conversation, students are offered opportunities to use the target language to communicate with each other, which is a good combination of listening and speaking.
