In recent years, juvenile delinquency is on the rise, which accounts for an increasing proportion of crime in the same period. There appears a trend that more adolescents commit a crime at their younger age. Many school-age children, mostly teenagers, commit wrongdoings from pick and steal to more violent and dangerous crimes.

Youth crime is closely related to its physiological and psychological characteristics. The contradiction in the development of the youth is the main cause of crime. The development of their mentality is incompatible with that of their bodies. They cannot make correct evaluation and judgment towards various positive and negative phenomena. Driven by curiosity, they want to find out about everything. Teenagers are more self-aware and want to be equal with adults, especially adverse to the constraints and supervision of adults and society. But in practice, they cannot make it, thus they tend to make conflicts with parents, teachers and others.

Moreover, the external cause should not be ignored. Low-level vulgar films and periodicals in the culture and art market seriously affect the physical and mental health of teenagers. Today children are often exposed to violence on TV, which makes them believe that violence is a good way to solve problems. Another reason is the influence of parents. Some parents are too busy with their work, and therefore they have little time to help their children when they are trapped in trouble. Distorted family environment, such as divorced, extremely poor, with single parent or too many siblings, hinders the healthy growth of the young, directly or indirectly. Besides, some schools pay more attention to knowledge learning and overlook ideological education.

In my opinion, we must take immediate measures to improve the current situation, for children are the hope and future of the country. The whole society should take action and work together to create a favorable environment for the growth of children. Government should enhance the enforcement of relative laws and combat the crime of instigation and coercion of juvenile delinquency. Schools and parents should help teenagers foster correct values on life and the world. The law course can be opened in all middle and primary schools. Meanwhile, children can be involved in more community services to get a better understanding of society, and develop a positive outlook of the world. We should always remember: Prevention is better than cure.
