Private cars do bring the owners and companions convenience and comfort. You can go to any place at any time with your private car. Traveling by car is very comfortable and flexible. In summer, you can turn on the air conditioner in your car to cool off. You just need to sit comfortably in your seat with your luggage in the boot instead of carrying it around. However, the disadvantages of private cars are obvious. Firstly, the exhaust gas that cars give off is bad for people’ s health and has detrimental effects on the environment. Secondly, with countless cars on the street, people find it hard to find a parking spot. What’ s worse, there is an increased risk of accidents in driving a private car.

Public transportation also has its benefits and problems. The main advantage of using public transportation is that it’ s cheap and generally much better for the environment. The emissions can be reduced to a large extent. Moreover, there is an increasing number of electric buses, which cause little damage to the environment. A disadvantage of public transportation is that there are few or no vacant seats in buses and subways in rush hours. Therefore, you may stand for a long time on the way to and back from your workplace. Once the bus or subway you take suddenly starts, stops or makes a turn, it is hard to keep a balance. You will get really tired when you arrive at home. Also, you have to follow a fixed route and there is no flexibility with public transportation.

Private cars bring us convenience. However, considering the situation of excessive cars and lack of parking lots, it is imperative to control the number of private cars by imposing restriction on the purchase and movement of private cars. Public transportation, especially subways, is encouraged in rush hours to save time. In other periods of the day, you can choose the one which meets your own needs.
