Food safety, in my point of view, includes the one during the process of production as well as in the marketplace.

Speaking of food safety in the process of production, people will definitely think of the Sanlu milk powder issue. The producer mixed the milk powder with the harmful additives, which is called melamine. It directly resulted in many cases of health problems among babies and adults. This is one of the most serious accidents in recent year. But small instances such as this are extremely common. It is quite common for producers to use some food additives, which are harmful to our health more or less.

On the other hand, the safety in market is essential as well. Once the food, which is stored in the fridge of supermarket, is tainted with certain kinds of microbes, the public health will be exposed to a dangerous situation. In order to save cost, many retailers choose to store foods in a wrong but cheaper way, or use some chemicals to preserve foods from decay.

In my view, to guarantee the food safety, necessary actions should be taken by the government. Government should improve the supervision system and severely punish the criminals. And moral ideas of producing and keeping food safe ought to be accepted by everyone in the society. Only when food safety isn’t a troublesome thing anymore, can we have a bright future.
