(1) Blacks suffered a lot in American history. At first, they were sold to America to be slaves especially in the south of America and worked for those southern planters.They were treated as animals, working very hard and doing everything for their masters but they had the lowest status in America.

(2) After the Civil War, most of the blacks got rid of the identity of slaves and got their freedom, however, they were still prejudiced because of their black skin, that was the racialism. They were treated differently from the mainstream white people and enjoyed less and worse social treatment and national welfare.

(3) But because of the Civil Rights Movement in the 1960s and 1970s, they gradually found their own voice and most of their civil rights were guaranteed in America.They started to play more and more important part in American societies.

(4) Currently in America, though there are still some racialists, especially those 3K group who think themselves, as whites, are much more superior than the blacks and look upon those blacks with hatred, the general atmosphere is peaceful and most blacks are treated equally in different fields in social lives. For example, a black people can also find a decent and high-paid job in some big companies. Another example is the popularity of those black celebrities in American entertainment circle.

(5) Thus although there are some problems, it is much better and has achieved great progress in this racial issue, which may be much better in the future.
