| Some people do not like anything to be
out of order. They are never late for work; they return their books to the
library on time; they remember people's birthdays; and they pay the bills as
soon as they arrive. Mr Dodds was such a person. Mr Dodds worked in a bank, but lived alone. Tile only family he had was in the next town, where his sister lived with her husband and their son, Mark. Mr Dodds had not seen his sister or her family for some years, but he sent them Christmas cards every year, and he had not forgotten Mark's seventeenth birthday days before. Last week,Mx Dodds had quite a surprise. He drove home form the bank at the usual time and drove neither too slowly nor too fast; he parked his car where he always parked it, and went inside to make his evening meal. Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. Mr Dodds opened the door, and found a policeman standing there. "What have I done wrong?" Mr Dod& asked himself. "Have I driven on the wrong side of the road? Has there been some trouble at the bank7" "Hello, Uncle," said the policeman, "My name's Mark." |
