A Letter to the Mayor
【正确答案】[范文]

A Letter to the Mayor

Dec. 18th

Dear Mr. Mayor,
I'm a citizen who has been living here for over 20 years. I'm writing to express my concern about the problem of demolition in our city.
The controversial issue in the limelight is how we should deal with the ancient buildings during the process of urbanization. Personally, I believe the ancient buildings should be well preserved. First and foremost, the ancient buildings represent one important piece of the history. If they were torn down, the culture, custom and life style they embodied may be lost. Moreover, these ancient buildings are symbol of the city and valuable tourist resources. Any unplanned demolition may cost us too heavy a price.
Thank you for your attention. I would appreciate it if my suggestion could be considered.
   Best regards.

Yours faithfully,
   Liu Mei
