Adolf Hitler spent most of his childhood in the neighborhood of Linz, the capital of Upper AustriA、His father, Alois Hitler, died in 1903 but left enough money to support his wife and children. Adolf received a secondary education and, although he had a poor record at school and failed to get the usual certificate, he did not leave until he was 16 (1905). During the following two years, he did nothing and dreamed of becoming an artist without taking any steps to prepare to earn a living. His mother did almost nothing to change her rigid son and left him forever in 1908. His desire was to become an art student, but he twice failed to be admitted to the Academy of Fine Arts. 结构推理It is rendering the meaning of a text into another language in the way that the author intended the text. Common sense tells us that this ought to be simple, as one ought to be able to say something as well in one language as in another. On the other hand, you may see it as complicated, artificial and fraudulent, since by using another language you are pretending to be someone you are not. The translation cannot simply reproduce, or be, the original. And since this is so, the first business of the translator is to translate. (Peter Newmark)

Questions 1 to 5 are based on the following passage.
The idea to build an undersea tunnel first came in 1802 and the project was actually started in the late 19th century. But the project was soon abandoned, only to have the idea back in 1957. In 1973 Britain and France decided to continue the project jointly and work began again but was cancelled in 1975. The idea of finishing the tunnel was raised in 1978 and the final leg of construction was started in 1987.
The Chunnel was built from two sides, England and France. The sides would dig independently and then meet up in the middle. The two countries differed greatly in their techniques and equipment. Both sides used huge tunnel-boring machines to dig parts of the tunnel but the French were still more advanced in other machinery. They used machine-built cages to reinforce the tunnel while the English used hand-made, and concrete segments. While the French used cranes to lift tunnel segments into place, the British fitted the segments into place by hanD、However, in 1990 the two sections of the tunnel met up and the tunnel became one continuous tunnel. The Chunnel held its official opening in May of 1994. When we think of communication, we normally think of using words -- talking face to face, writing messages and so on. But in fact, we communicate far more in other ways. Our eyes and facial expressions usually tell the truth even when our words do not. Then there are gestures, often unconscious: raising the eye-brows (眉毛), rubbing the nose, raising the shoulders, tapping the fingers, nodding and shaking the heaD、
There is also the even finer “body language” of posture or position. Are you sitting -- or standing -- with arms or legs crossed? Is that person standing with hands in pockets, held in front of the body or hidden behind? Even the way we dress and colors we wear communicate things to others. So, do animals communicate? Not in words, although a parrot (鹦鹉) might be trained to repeat words and phrases which it doesn't understanD、But, as we have learned, there is more to communication than words. Take dogs for example. They show their teeth to warn, wag (摇摆) their tails to welcome and stand firm, with hair straight to challenge. These signals are surely similar to human body language of facial expression, gesture and posture. Color can be an important means of communication for animals.
Many birds and fish change colors, for example, to attract mates during the mating season (交配季节). And mating itself is commonly signaled by a special dance in which both mates take part. Here again, there are striking similarities to youngsters who dress up to meet mates at discotheques (迪斯科舞厅), where the music is often too loud for spoken communication. Communication there takes place through appearance and movements.
The most difficult dances in the animal world are those which bees use to communicate. With body movements alone they can tell other bees the direction and distance of a newly discovered food location. All these examples may suggest in many ways human body language says far more than clever, spoken communication ever can.
1. What is the topic of the passage?
2. According to the passage, what is the main difference between humans and other animals?
3. Dogs are mentioned in the passage to show _____________________.
4. Youngsters communicate with each other at discotheques by ________.
5. A bee can tell other bees where a newly discovered food location is by ________.
