Read the following two fables. Do the English fable and the Chinese fable tell the same lesson? Or do they tell different lessons? Write ONE paragraph of about 80 words in English to explain your understanding of the two fables. You should analyze the fables to illustrate your point. The Wolf in Sheepskin Aesop There was once a wolf who grew tired of hunting for his food. "It"s such hard work and it"s no fun being .shot at by angry farmers." So he thought of a clever plan. He decided to wrap himself in a sheepskin and live in a sheep pen. Then when he grew hungry, he could kill a nice fat lamb for his dinner and not have to hunt to find it. However, that same night the farmer also decided that he would like lamb for dinner and went down to the sheep pen. It was very dark and the farmer grabbed and killed the first sheep he found. Imagine his surprise when he found he had killed a wolf!

It sounds great. Something is desperately needed and someone who has it agrees to give it for no charge except that "that something" involves genetically engineered crops which in some parts of the world still raise environmental concerns and "that someone" is the company Monsanto, the biotech giant which in the past was accused of developing genetically engineered crops that were too expensive for most African farmers. "Here you are with the problem. You"re looking for the solution. Mosanto is willing to give it to all, so it"s the best partner we have because they are helping us to solve our problem." Everyone is keen to stress that genetically engineered or transgenic crops are just one of the options. The project is also working on conventional plant breeding and a sort of halfway house between conventional breeding and genetic engineering called marker-assisted selection.

问答题Firefighters are using powerful hoses to try to spray the buildings, after the country"s self-defense forces abandoned a mission to drop water by helicopter because of the radiation risk posed to the pilots. The Japanese government Friday raised the severity rating of its nuclear disaster from 4 to 5 on a 7-point international nuclear event scale. Level 5 signals an accident with wider consequences, including some release of radioactive material, with a high probability of significant public exposure. Workers are trying to install new power lines to the building to restore cooling systems which were knocked out during last week"s earthquake and tsunami disasters. But officials say it may take until Sunday for the electricity to start flowing to the damaged reactors.

问答题Winning is often the result of persistence, of not giving up when your goal appears to be in jeopardy. "When you adopt the attitude that if you do something it will make a difference, that"s confidence," Rosabeth Moss Kanter, author of the bestselling book Confidence says. "Look at your situation and think of yourself as being in the middle of it. The story is rarely over, even when the great majority think it is—something every sports fan knows." Kicker Adam Vinatieri helped the New England Patriots football team defeat the Miami Dolphins 27—24 on December 29, 2002, when he kicked a 42-yard field goal in the final seconds, after many spectators had already got up from their seats to make their way out of the stadium. This event got fans saying, "It"s not over until Vinatieri kicks." Sure enough, in the 2004 Super Bowl, Vinatieri kicked the game-winning points for the Patriots in the final few seconds. Certainly, there will still be moments and situations that just aren"t going to go your way, and this is the time when confidence needs to be tempered by realism. If you believe in yourself so strongly that you act rashly, confidence can actually make you "stupid". So handle it with care—and use your confidence wisely. 注释: (1)persistence n. 坚持persist v. 坚持 (2)be in jeopardy陷入危险中 (3)adopt v.
