单选题It was a very foggy(多雾的)day in London. Mr. Smith had arrived from Edinburgh to go to a very important meeting, but no buses or taxis were running. He thought he would walk to the office. But he saw that nobody was ever trying to walk anywhere. While he was standing there, saying unhappy things about the fog, and thinking that he would have to telephone to the office and say that he was not able to come, a young man came up to him and said, "Sir, if you want to go somewhere, I can guide(领路)you. Please trust me. "So Mr. Smith told him where he wanted to go, and they started. At first, Mr. Smith thought," Perhaps this man is foolish; he would show me a wrong way." But a minute later, the young man stopped and said, "Here is the place, sir." Mr. Smith was surprised to find that he had already reached the office. He asked, "There is thick fog everywhere, but how can you find the way in the fog?" "I"m blind, sir, "answered the young man, "but I know London very well, and it is exact- ly the same for me in the fog."

单选题If you feel tired all the time, you don"t necessarily need to go to bed earlier -- the solution could he as simple as taking a five-minute afternoon nap. Children under five have an abundance of energy and one of the reasons is because they nap once or twice a day. Many sleep experts think we"re programmed to take a nap during the day, and gating back into this habit can be a solution for those who feel tired all the time. Prof. Chris Idzikowski of the Sleep Advisory and Assessment Center thinks that one can feel refreshed after just five minutes sleep. And research has shown that concentration and attention are improved after even a short nap. Sleep is genetically programmed in babies and it"s only as we get older that we learn to sleep for about eight hours a night and not at all during the day. But most research suggests that we are not physically designed to sleep for one long, single block. Before the working day became nine to five, all Western sleep patterns were more broken up. Research has shown that in the Middle Ages, people"s sleep quite often occurred in "three distinct parts — a nap in the afternoon, an early morning nap and another, longer sleep until dawn. So if you do find yourself feeling sleepy through the day, don"t feel you"re being lazy by giving in to sleep and having a nap. Your increased energy and alertness will make the rest of your day extra productive.

To say "裤子", people in the U.S. use "pants", but people in the U.K. say "trousers". People in the U.S. say "sure", but people in the U.K. say "of course". There are a lot of differences. But they still can understand each other.
