单选题Weddings in the United States vary as much as the people do. There are church wedding with a great deal of fanfare; there are civil weddings with little ceremony; there are weddings on mountain-tops with guests in barefoot; and there have been weddings on the ocean floor with oxygen tanks for the guests. But most weddings, no matter where or how they are performed, include certain traditional customs. Since early Roman times, June has been a popular month for weddings. Some people even think June was named for Juno, the Roman goddess of marriage. Whatever the reason, June remains a favorite month for weddings. Before a couple is married, they become engaged. In many cases, the man will give the woman an engagement ring as a token of their agreement to marry. In the past, the man would go to the woman"s father and ask for her hand in marriage. The father would then decide whether to give the man permission to marry his daughter or not. Today, the decision to marry is made by the couple. They will first tell their parents about the engagement and later their friends and relatives. Engagement announcements also will appear in local newspapers. The bride and groom each choose attendants to stand with them during the ceremony. The number of attendants ranges from one to twelve each for the bride and groom. The usual number is two to four. The bride"s most important attendant is called the "maid of honor". The groom"s is called the "best man" The wedding itself usually lasts between 20 and 40 minutes. The wedding march is played and the wedding party enters the church. The bride enters last with her father who will "give her way. The groom does not take part in the procession. He enters the church from a side door and waits for the bride at the end of the aisle. When the wedding party is gathered by the altar, the bride and groom exchange vows. It is traditional to use the words "to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poor, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part." In recent years many couples have closed to write their own vows that are more personal to them. Following the vows, the couple exchange rings and the groom kisses the bride which symbolizes the end of the ceremony.

单选题Sales promotion is the process of persuading a potential customer to buy the product. It can be part of the personal selling process. The main methods of sales promotion are: Money-off coupons(优惠券) -- customers receive coupons out of newspapers or a products packing that enable them to buy the product next time at a reduced price. Competitions ---buying the product will allow the customer to take part in a chance to win a prize. Discount vouchers --- a voucher is like a money-off coupon. Free gifts --- a free product when buying another product. Point of sales materials --- e.g. posters, display stands-ways of presenting the product in its best way or show the customer that the product is there. Loyalty cards -- e.g. Nectar and Air Miles; where customers earn points for buying certain goods or shopping at certain retailers(零售商)-- that can be later be exchanged for money, goods or other offers. Loyalty cards have recently become an important form of sales promotion. They encourage the customer to return to the retailer by giving them discounts based on the spending from a previous visit. Loyalty cards can offset(弥补) the discount they offer by making more sales and persuading the customer to come back. They also provide information about the shopping habits of customers -- where do they shop, when and what do they buy? This is very valuable marketing research and can be used in the planning process for new and existing products.
