单选题Working at home in your nightclothes while saving hundreds of dollars may sound too good to be true, but it isn't. More and more employees are telecommuting, doing their job at home or another remote site. "It's a trend that's here now and you're going to see a lot more telecommuting because people don't have to put up with commuting (来回上下班). They want more work/life balance, they want less stress in their lives and companies want to drive costs after their bottom lines," says John Edwards, President of the International Telework Association and Council. However, Edwards says, "The biggest problem at the moment is dealing with middle management who is uncomfortable with management style focusing on results. They are used to the line of sight management style. But they have to change to more results-oriented management style which can often be slightly opposite, so they feel uncomfortable with that." Edwards says telecommuting kills distance—and a lot of face to face meetings are replaced by teleconferences. "Distance does not exist anymore. It's the death of distance, if you like. So now it's possible to have more invisible teams so that the necessity to have the old bricks and walls existing is beginning to disappear./

单选题 Borrowing to start a business is not easy. Getting a bank
loan, particularly for a new small business, is like going through the eye of a
needle. Banks favor established business people with a solid
credit rating and a large bank account. They should also have experience in the
business they propose to enter, and offer well-prepared business plans that show
the ability to repay the loans. If you are not such a person, then you need to
double your preparations to convince the banker to lend you that much needed
start-up capital. If your business is new and small, bankers will need to know
as much as possible about you and your business. However, many
small business owners often make the mistake of not being well prepared when
going to the bank to apply for the loan. Surprisingly, many loan applicants
don't even have the slightest idea how or when they intend to repay the money
they request. Often they don't even know how much money they need. When asked
how much money they want to borrow, many people give these two common responses:
"How much money can I get?" and "As much as possible." Is it any wonder
that lenders say no? So the most important thing is do your
homework before you ask for a loan.

单选题I always felt sorry for the people in wheelchair. Some people, old and weak, cannot get around by themselves. Others seem perfectly healthy, dressed in business suits. But whenever I saw someone in a wheelchair, I only saw a disability, not a person. Then I fainted at Euro Disney due to low blood pressure. This was the first time I had ever fainted, and my parents said that I must rest for a while after First Aid. I agreed to take it easy but, as I stepped toward the door, I saw my dad pushing a wheelchair in my direction! Feeling the color burn my cheeks, I asked him to wheel that thing right back to where he found it. I could not believe this was happening to me. Wheelchairs were fine for other people but not for me, as my father wheeled me out into the main street, people immediately began to treat me differently. Little kids ran in front of me, forcing my father to stop the wheelchair suddenly. Bitterness set in as I was thrown back and forth. "Stupid kids—they have perfectly good legs. Why can't they watch where they are going?" I thought. People stared down at me, with pity in their eyes. Then they would look away, maybe because they thought the sooner they forgot me the better. "I'm just like you!" I wanted to scream. "The only difference is you've got legs, and I have wheels." People in wheelchair are not stupid. They see every look and hear each word. Looking out at the faces, I finally understood: I was once just like them. I treated people in wheelchairs exactly the way they did not want to be treated. I realize it is some of us with two healthy legs who are truly disabled.
