单选题Cyber crime which is the illegal activity committed on the Internet is the fastest growing criminal activity in the world and is of major concern to the Government. From traditional crime on-line to new crimes that target information and communications networks, it covers a huge range of unlawful activities. UK and international agencies are working together to combat the threat of cyber crime. Access to information and communications technology (ICT) is globally available and increasingly used. Most Internet and e-mail users are involved in lawful business. However, some use the technology for unlawful activities. Global and transnational crimes can now be committed far distant from the place (or places) where the impact of that crime is felt. Transnational hi-tech crime involves the criminal's computer communicating by using a number of other machines to reach its intended target. This activity leaves a data record with the service provider. If the records are retained and the criminal has not concealed them, they can be used to trace the criminal. However, these data records are not permanent. In many cases when law enforcement officials attempt to gain lawful access to this data, it may have been deleted. As lawful use of IT increases, criminals around the world increasingly use computers to commit traditional crimes. Computer hacking is also an area of concern.

单选题Who shed tears at moving movies? Who gets so swept away by excitement that they leap to their feet and bug complete strangers? Who falls apart when a relationship ends? The surprising answer: men. The movie is likely to be Field of Dreams which has brought many men to tears, they may get over-excited during a football game or the breakup may just result from their ideas. However, new research reveals that a man"s emotional life is as complex and rich as a woman"s, but often remains a mystery to him as well as to any woman who loves him.
Although emotions have long been considered a female thing, men report feelings as often as woman and describe their experiences of emotion similarly. In an analysis of emotional intelligence of 500,000 adults, men rated just as high in emotional awareness. In studies of married couples, hundreds proved as sensitive to their mates" stress levels as wives and just as capable of offering support.
Although both men and woman sigh, cry, laugh, get angry, and shout, they express emotions differently. "Emotions live in the background of a man"s life and the foreground of a woman"s," says psychologist Josh Coleman, author of The Lazy Husband."
Women seem naturally more in touch with their emotions, while men have to work at it. But when men do, it"s a win-win situation. They discover a whole new dimension (空间)of themselves. Their relationships are happier, and they"re happier too."

单选题Some people argue that self-plagiarism (自我剽窃) is impossible by definition because plagiarism is theft and people cannot steal from their own work. But, this is not correct in law. And there are circumstances, such as insurance fraud (保险欺), etc., when it is possible to steal from oneself. Self-plagiarism, however, must be carefully distinguished from the recycling of one's work that to a greater or lesser extent everyone legally does. Self-plagiarism in academic (学术的) publications is a gray area. However, many universities indirectly recognize the practice as deceptive. They publish rules preventing students from handing in basically the same essay for credit in different courses. There are also rules against someone handing in the same graduate thesis to different universities. Among established academics, self-plagiarism is a problem. It means basically the same article or book is handed in on more than one occasion for salary raising or promotion. Like all plagiarism the essence of self-plagiarism is the author' attempts to cheat the reader. This happens when no indication is given that the work is being recycled or when an effort is made to disguise the original text. For example, an author just makes cosmetic changes to make the same article, chapter, or book look different. But actually it remains unchanged in its central argument. In this case, disguising a text occurs. Authors change such things as paragraph breaks, capitalization, or the substitution of technical terms in different languages. What he has done is to make readers believe they are reading something completely new. This practice is self-plagiarism.

The device comprises a head portion having a cutting edge with a pair of
lever members mounted on opposing sides of the head portion. The lever members
are pivotally (枢轴的 ) mounted at one end thereof to move in a crossed
relationship with respect to each other and to swing the outer end thereof from
resting position outwardly with respect to the head portion. The outer end of
each lever member has a structural configuration effective to cause the swinging
movement of the lever members upon contact with the' object to be split. The
outer end of each lever member contacts the object immediately after the cutting
edge contacts the object. The lever members are effective to provide forces via
their end portions against opposing sides of a cut formed by the utting edge and
thereby enhance splitting of the object against which the cutting edge had been
thrust. The lever members are mounted to bosses directly attached to the
head portion. 14 Claims, 7 Drawing Figures
