单选题I often find myself asking my grandmother to tell me stories of people's life that occurred around the start of the Renaissance(文艺复兴). She says she looks forward to the times I show my inquisitive(刨根问底的) personality by asking her all about our family's past when they lived over in Europe, years and years ago. I must do all my responsibilities around the house, which also includes getting my homework done each evening in order for my fun times with my grandmother to always ensue. One particular evening, I remembered doing everything my mom had told me that day to do. This was mainly because grandmother had previously promised this would be the day she would tell me all about the obsequious(谄媚的) and sectarian(宗派的) groups of people who lived back then. As soon as I finished all my responsibilities, I rushed over to her house which was next door to my house. However, as I was running over there as fast as I could, my shoes lost traction which made me fall because the yard was icy from the chilly weather we had the night before. When I got inside of grandmother's house, she quickly noticed the hurt look on my face and began to ask me as to why my body was all bruised. Even though I didn't want to tell her exactly what I had carelessly done on my way over to see her, I did anyway. I didn't want to tell her originally because I knew that she would then try to make me go home without telling me a story, which in my childlike mind was a terrible thing to happen. Go home without hearing a story -- no way! I had worked so hard all day long in order to have this reward and nothing, not even my banged up knees and bruised elbows, would keep me from this special time with my grandmother. I told her that I did not have an intractable disease or anything, and those little bruises were things that could be taken care of after our story-time was over. Seeing that I would not give up until I heard a story, my grandmother chuckled as she said, "I had a feeling your intrinsic nature would not give up easily until you got your way." So finally, I got to hear the wonderful story of the experiences that my family dealt with, back in the days when my grandparents lived over in Europe. I can truly say that the story was well worth it, too!

单选题One day two scientists were quarrelling about whose watch was better, the German one or the Japanese one Since they were scientists, they decided to do an experiment to test the watches. They went into their lab and filled a basin with water, put the watches in, waited for 20 minutes and took them out. They could see there was something wrong with both watches. They observed them for several hours before speaking to each other. They both silently found that the German watch was losing 60 minutes and the Japanese one doubled that. The scientist with the Japanese watch then slowly raised his head and said, "Both watch are out of work, but my watch is right more often than yours, so it's better." The scientist with the German watch went home without saying a word.
单选题Black Americans have served with honor in every American military action, though this fact is often not written in history books. Even though black men begged to be allowed to serve in the Revolution War, they served well. During the Revolution War a black man named Estabrook captured Royal Army's General Prescott Newport and Peter Salem, a black, killed Major Pitcairn as he was savoring his victory at Bunker Hill.
