单选题Football is, I suppose, the most popular game in England; one has only to go to one of the important matches to see. Rich and poor, young and old, one can see them all there, shouting (36) cheering for one side or (37) . One of the most (38) things about football in England to a (39) is the great (40) of the game which even the smallest boy seems to (41) . He can tell you the names of the players in (42) of the important teams. He has (43) of them and knows the results of many matches. He (44) tell you proudly who he expects will (45) a game, and his opinion is (46) right. Most schools in England (47) football seriously -- (48) seriously than all any where lessons are the most important. In England, it is (49) that education is not only a(n) (50) of filling a boy's (51) with facts in a classroom, education also (52) character training; and one of the best ways to do this is to play (53) games. 单选题Greenspace facilities are contributing to an important extent to the quality of the urban environment. Fortunately, it is no longer necessary that every lecture or every book about this subject has to start with the proof of this idea. At present it is generally accepted, although more as a self-evident statement than on the base of a closely-reasoned scientific proof. The recognition of the importance of greenspaces in the urban environment is a first step on the right way; this does not mean, however, that sufficient details are known about the functions of greenspace in towns and about the way in which the inhabitants are using these spaces. As to this rather complex subject I shall, within the scope of this lecture, enter into one aspect only, namely the recreative function of greenspace facilities. The theoretical separation of living working, traffic and recreation which for many years has been used in town-and-country planning, has in my opinion resulted in disproportionate attention for forms for improvement of recreative possibilities in the direct neighborhood of the home. We have come to the conclusion that this is not right, because an important part of the time which we do not pass in sleeping or working, is used for activities at and around home. So it is obvious that recreation in the open air has to begin at the street-door of the house. The urban environment has to offer as many recreation activities as possible, and the design of these has to be such that more obligatory activities can also have a recreative aspect. The very best standard of living is nothing if it is not possible to take a pleasant walk in the district, if the children cannot be allowed to play in the streets because the risks of traffic are too great, if during shopping you can nowhere find a spot for enjoying for a moment the nice weather, in short, if you only feel yourself at home after the street-door of your house is closed after you.

单选题{{B}}Text 4{{/B}} Estee Lauder, a very successful business leader, died on April 24th, 2004, at the age of 97. She had sold beauty products for more than 70 years. Her business, the Estee Lauder Companies, began on the streets of New York City. Estee's parents had come to America from Hungary. They did not have much money. But they did have a beautiful daughter. Estee's uncle was a chemist. Together, they worked to develop skin care creams in the 1920s when Estee was still a teenager. She took her products to New York City and stopped women on the street. She let them try the creams for free, calling the products "jars of hope". Soon, young Estee was selling the products to large stores that sold things to wealthy women. She wrote powerful marketing messages such as "I have the secrets" or "start the New Year with a new face." She also used many smart sales tricks. Estee Mentzer married Joseph Lauder in 1930. He became her business partner. Estee Lauder once said, "I never dreamed about success. I worked for it." In 1995, she decided she had worked long enough, so she retired. Today, her two sons and a grandson lead the Esstee Lauder Companies. The business is worth about ten thousand million dollars. It employs more than 20 thousand people.
