问答题New Policies on School Newspaper The school newspaper will eliminate event reports and news comments in the future issues, and this is due to some practical concerns: firstly, our school website is providing some news reports and comments that students can read and download easily from school official websites; secondly, due to its difficulties and extra working hours, there are not enough student reporters who are willing to write critical comments on the latest news. Question: The woman expresses her opinion towards the university's decision to eliminate news comments on school newspaper. State her opinion and explain the reasons she gives for holding that opinion.

问答题An Class Attendance Policy
Many students skip the classes for various reasons, but they do not
realize the consequences of missing classes. Although most college classes only
meet 2—3 times per week, those classes sessions will be jam—packed with
information that students will need to pass the classes. Therefore, skipping
classes will kill students' grades in college faster than anything else. Selma
University has issued an attendance policy, declaring that students with more
than 4 times of absence of any class will receive lower grades in their academic
records. Now hear a conversation about the same
topic. Explain both the woman and man's opinion towards the
school announcement and explain the reasons they give for holding that opinion.
问答题Confirmation Bias
Proposal for Free Bus Transportation from Airport In recent
years, we have observed an increase in the number of students arriving both
domestically and overseas. Taxies is the only means of transportation students
can use to travel between the airport and the University, if they don't have
private vehicles, and the cost of taking a taxi is quite expensive. Therefore,
it is the time that the University should consider to offer students free
airport bus from the bus terminal on campus during the school breaks. Once this
idea is put into effect, students would find it convenient and cost-effective to
travel to the airport. Now hear a conversation about the same
topic. The man expresses his opinion of the school policy on
the free airport bus service. State his opinion and explain the reasons he gives
for holding that opinion.

问答题Some people believe students should play games for enjoyment, others believe they should compete in sports in order to win. Which position do you take?
问答题Some people think students should study in classrooms and others
believe they should visit museums and zoos. Which do you prefer? Include reasons
and details in your explanation.
问答题Directions:
You will now read a short passage and listen to a lecture on the same topic. You will then be asked a question about them. After you hear the question, give yourself 30 seconds to prepare your response. Then record yourself speaking for 60 seconds.
Perceptual Constancy
How an object affects our senses depends in part on external conditions, and these conditions are always changing. An object viewed from one angle presents a different shape to our eye than when viewed from another angle; similarly, as the distance from which we view an object changes, the object will appear larger or smaller. In spite of this, even as conditions change and we see objects differently, we still recognize that they remain the same. This is what is known as perceptual constancy. If not for perceptual constancy, we might have difficulty recognizing familiar objects if we viewed them in a new and different context.

of the common causes of insomnia.
问答题Quality Circle A quality circle is a volunteer group of workers, usually led by an elected team leader. They are trained to identify, and solve work-related problems. They present their solutions to management in order to improve the performance of the organization, and motivate and enrich the work of employees. Quality circles are an alternative to treating workers like machines, which is a result of the division of labor. Quality circles can aid in creating harmony and ensuring high performance. Typical topics they address are improving safety on the job, improving the design of products, and improving manufacturing performance. Question: Using information from the reading and the lecture, explain how the quality circle improves work efficiency. Now hear a talk on the same subject.
问答题A New Policy of Library Lockers Reservation Effective immediately following spring break, library lockers will be reserved for the use of senior students only. This measure has been prompted by the unusually heavy workload borne by final year students. The lockers, conveniently situated near the book stacks, will help these students store the volumes and materials needed for research papers and senior theses. The library apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause other students. Locker fees will, of course, be refunded to all non-senior students upon presentation of a receipt. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Question: The woman expresses her opinion about the new policy of library lockers reservation. State her opinion and explain the reasons she gives for holding that opinion. Now hear a conversation between two students.
问答题A Proposal for Writing Center
Writing Center at Campion College provides all students with trained peer
consultants to help them brainstorm, draft, or edit their writing. It has always
been a sounding board for ideas and provides one-on-one service for students'
paper writing. However, a letter from a student has currently criticized that
the service is too crowded and no longer satisfies all the students
requirements. Therefore, the student has suggested that the writing service
should hire more tutors as well as be open to students over weekends since the
current opening hours scheduled from Monday to Friday is not enough to meet
students' increasing demands for writing tutoring. Now hear a
conversation about the same topic. The woman expresses her
opinion of the student's proposal about hiring more tutors in the writing
center, state her opinion and explain the reasons she gives for holding that
opinion.
