单选题Competitive Advertising Strategy In terms of its advertising strategy, Coca-Cola France decided in 2002 to have a three-year partnership with the football player Thierry Henry, in order to benefit from his considerable popularity, especially amongst teenagers. Using celebrities shows a new approach for the company, adopting a communication strategy similar to that of its rival, Pepsi Co. During the football World Cup, special promotions were organized in some supermarkets. The company's good results in the soft drinks market are partly due to its strategy to limit the impact of seasonality by doing all year round promotions. Coca-Cola's attempts to diversify its range of products were illustrated by the successful introduction of the Aquarius brand within the emerging functional drinks sector. The company's recent strategy to develop new products specifically targeted at national markets was successfully illustrated in France by the good performance of Fanta Lafina and Fanta Madness in 2001, two beverages designed to appeal to French teenagers' tastes. The growth of the low-calorie variant Coca-Cola Light was boosted by major advertising campaigns to position it as a distinct brand, rather than as just a variant within the Coca-Cola range. Thus it was extended by the introduction of a lemon-flavoured variant in 2002.

单选题· Read the following passage below about a Chairman's Statement.· For
each question (23-28), choose the correct answer.· Mark one letter (A, B or
C) on your Answer sheet.
{{B}}CHAIRMAN'S
STATEMENT{{/B}} Despite the appearance of a new competitor on the
market the company continued to grow and increase its market share throughout
2006. Partly in response to this new threat but. more importantly, as part of a
strategy for growth, several key decisions were taken this year. The most
significant new developments included a range of vitamin-rich children's drinks
and low calorie diet drinks, which both proved very popular. The
company is still best known for its range of refreshing fruit drinks and. not
surprisingly, these were our biggest sellers once more. There were two new
additions to the range last year, "Joyful" and "Refresh", both of which have a
distinctive Caribbean flavour. The first sales figures suggest that our
expensive TV advertising campaign was very successful and that these products
will soon be as popular as the rest of the fruit drink range.
Growth in the keep-fit and health markets meant our energy drinks did well
in 2006. Sales of one brand, "Delight", were second only to fruit drinks in
July. The strength of this particular market also explains the success of our
new diet drinks. There were, however, big differences in the
performance of our older products. The company's oldest product, mineral water,
continued to enjoy a healthy share of a very profitable mass market. It seems
our customers are still happy to stay with the brand despite the increasing
number of competitors' products. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said of our
Ice-J and Chocomania drinks. Sales showed an initial increase in the summer
after we re-launched both products but customers soon bought other brands and
total annual sales for both product ranges were disappointing.
The company also said goodbye to its own brand of cola. launched in 2004.
After two unsuccessful years of trying to break into the huge cola market. 2006
looked like being another poor year. The company finally accepted that it had
made a wrong decision and stopped production in October of that
year.
单选题· Read the following passage about traffic.· Are the sentences 16-22
"Right" or "Wrong"? If there isn't enough information to answer "Right" or
"Wrong", choose "Doesn't say".· For each sentence, mark one letter (A, B or
C) on your Answer Sheet.
{{B}}Too many
cars?{{/B}} Everyone agrees that there are simply too many cars on
the road but who will be the first to stop using theirs? Although everyone hates
being stuck in traffic, no one sees their cars as part of the growing problem.
However, with traffic growth up to 84 per cent expected by 2025 and the
ever-increasing cost of accidents and delays already at $160 bn in Europe, there
is a growing need to change our 'culture' and develop alternative forms of
transport as quickly as possible. One answer is to make cars
more expensive by increasing taxes on petrol. However, tax increases will affect
the people who live in the country more than city drivers and do little to
reduce inner city traffic. The Government is also looking at pay-as-you-drive
schemes on motorways but this will push cars on to smaller 'free' roads, which
will make the problem worse, A successful transport policy is
not just a question of making the car too expensive but of offering car drivers
a real alternative. Many motorists dislike driving to work but say public
transport services are too slow, offer poor quality and are tar too expensive.
If new transport policies are to succeed, public transport needs to be quick,
reliable and affordable. Transport planners are also developing
ways of managing the existing road network more efficiently. New technology such
as smart cards and electronic monitoring of roads will lead to a more efficient
use of transport systems. However, technology will not reduce the number of cars
on the road or solve the real problem of how to persuade car drivers to leave
their beloved cars at home more often.

单选题A City of Many Faces Amsterdam is a city of many faces. It is the capital of the Netherlands. even though it is not the seat of Parliament or the government. Amsterdam is more than just a capital, however. It is the essence of the Netherlands: not just because it is the largest city in the country, but more particularly because it is the mainspring of our country's economic, social and cultural life. Already more than seven hundred years old, our compact city has more of which it can be proud: world-class orchestras and dance groups, more than forty renowned museums, almost a thousand restaurants serving cuisine from countries around the globe, gabled mansions and magnificent churches from the 17th century Golden Age. But, as Amsterdammers. we are most proud of our tradition of hospitality. We really want every one to feel at home. You will find this friendliness and helpfulness everywhere: at tile XXX Tourist Office, in our hotels and restaurants, at our colorful street markets and distinctive Haute Couture shops, in our brown cafes and nightclubs. Whether you are a business executive or a tourist, you will find people here eager to talk with you usually in your own language. Multilingualism is another feature in which the Dutch take pride.
