open daily except Monday and Friday. Jim Thompson's
House provides an interesting insight into a foreigner's love of
Thailand and its people and arts. The house, actually three teak houses joined
together, is open Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and costs B100 (which
includes a tour in English or French). What to
do Bangkok was once known as 'the Venice of the East'
because of its many miles of canals (klongs) throughout the city
centre. Visitors should experience at least one river trip during their
stay, and a simple ferry crossing is an easy and inexpensive way of seeing
