填空题{{B}}How to approach Reading Test Part Five{{/B}}· This part of the Reading Test tests your ability to identify additional or unnecessary words in a text. Most lines contain one extra word which is incorrect.· Read the whole text quickly to find out what it is about. As you read, try to identify the words that are incorrect. Make sure you consider whole sentences, and not each line separately.· Then read the text again, and write down the extra words.· Remember there will be only one extra word in a line, and some lines are correct.· Read the article on the opposite page about organising events.· In most of the lines 34 - 45 there is one extra word. It is either grammatically incorrect or does not fit in with the meaning of the text. Some lines, however, are correct.· If a line is correct, write CORRECT on yourAnswer Sheet.· If there is an extra word in the line, write the extra word in CAPITAL LETTERS on your Answer Sheet.· The exercise begins with two examples, (0) and (00). {{B}}Organising Events{{/B}} First task of all, you need to be sure that an event is really the best way to get your message across to customers. Maybe advertising or direct mail would be more34 effective instead. While an event involves persuading key people to attend,35 and can take out a great deal of time and money, so you should think very36 carefully before choosing that method. If you go for an event, see how soon37 others do it, and adapt from their ideas to suit your own circumstances. You'll38 need to produce an event strategy and checklist, and then keep on to it. Make39 sure your key players agree to look an outline strategy at the start. The smallest40 things can let you go down, with potentially serious results. This means you41 should have plans in place in which case speakers arrive late, contractors are42 unreliable or equipment fails. Keep everyone involved informed of how plans43 are progressing, to avoid a lack of information is leading to confusion and44 uncertainty. Form a team and delegate responsibilities. Afterwards, thank to45 everybody. This is very important: after all, you could well need them again next time.

填空题 Marketing InformationCorrect Sales and marketing messages are illegal if they falsely advertise prices, the performance capability, quality, or the other product characteristics, or deceive34 the buyer in what any way. A Western Canadian electronics firm was convicted35 recently of bait-and-switch selling (selling products with deceptive advertising).36 This practice occurs when a company advertises at a very low price on a37 product, but the customer has great many difficulty getting the special price.38 Rather that, the company attempts to sell the customer a similar but39 higher-priced product or offers a rain check that it will not be honored. This40 tactic for attracting customers is a form of deceptive marketing. Furthermore,41 sellers of services must also be cautious about how the language they use to42 describe what they will do. Letters, reports, and proposals that they describe43 services to be performed are interpreted as contracts in courts. Sales and44 marketing messages must not make claims that cannot be verified, so that45 language must not promise more than which intended.

填空题THE ART OF DELEGATION Are you one of those people who doesn't trust anyone else to do what needs to be done? Some managers they can't bear anyone else to help them in any way. They34. don't believe that anyone can do such a job as well as they can. It is not surprising35. that they then get overwhelmed by work and complain that they have far too much36. to do, but it could be argued that it is by their own fault. If they learnt to delegate,37. they would have much more time available. Besides the saving time and freeing38. them to concentrate on tasks that are important, delegating also benefits to the39. company. If managers delegate effectively, their staff will become more skilled and40. committed. Asking staff to take those decisions improves their efficiency and41. morale. This will contribute it not only to the success of the team, butto the success42. of the company as a whole. More importantly, it will also show how good that a43. person's managerial skills are, which is useful when candidates are considered for44. promotion. Trusting other people to do a job properly and in providing them with the45. opportunity to do so is therefore an essential management skill in all the workplace of today.
