摘要
本研究基于Culpeper不礼貌理论模式与Thomas语用失误理论,以60篇大学生英语演讲比赛即兴演讲语篇为语料,对其不礼貌策略语用失误的话语进行阐析。研究首先论证了此类演讲语篇中不礼貌策略的语用失误出现频次与选手的语言水平呈反相关关系,随后发现导致语用失误的不礼貌策略主要集中于消极不礼貌策略和积极不礼貌策略,最后分析其动因。本研究为英语演讲语篇的分析探究提供了新的研究路径。
Based on Culpeper’s model of impoliteness and Thomas’s pragmatic failure theory,this study tries to analyze the utterances with pragmatic failure in the use of impolite superstrategies.The data were taken from 60 impromptu speeches of college students English speaking contests.The study first explains that the frequency of pragmatic failure in the use of impolite superstrategies has an inverse relationship with the contestants’linguistic competence,and then discovers that pragmatic failure in the use of impolite superstrategies shows a relatively higher frequency on negative impoliteness strategy and positive impoliteness strategy.Finally,the study analyzes the motivations of the pragmatic failure.The study provides new approaches for future research of the analyses on English speech discourses.
