摘要
清末民国时期,西式印刷术传入中国,引发了印刷媒介的变革。新出现的印刷媒介形式多样、数量丰富、价格亲民,构成了近代阅读生活的物质基础。报纸通过在不同地域和阶层的广泛传播,为读者营造了公共阅读空间;画报和连环画是读者增广见闻、消闲娱乐的重要选项,造就了繁盛的图像阅读景观;书业广告以报纸为主要载体,刺激读者消费,在阅读行为和消费行为之间发挥了中介作用。文章发现,清末民国时期的阅读生活主要依附于印刷媒介,新型印刷媒介增强了阅读与社会的互动,当时的阅读生活是近代社会生活的一个缩影。
Western printing technology was introduced into China in the late Qing Dynasty and the Republican era,giving rise to changes in print media.The new emerging print media were varied in form,rich in quantity,and affordably priced,forming the material basis of modern reading.Newspapers spread widely and across different social strata,giving readers a public reading space;pictorials and Lianhuanhua were important choices for readers to broaden their horizons and spend leisure time,giving rise to a vogue for picture reading;book advertisements,largely in newspapers,spurred reader consumption,serving as a bridge between reading and consumption.The paper finds out that people’s reading life from the late Qing Dynasty to the Republican era attached largely to print media,the new print media brought about growing interaction between reading and society,and reading life then was a microcosm of modern social life.
