摘要
谢家坝的建造是连镇谢氏家族不断参与运河水工建设的过程,体现出了谢氏家族与大运河区域社会相互依存的关系。从清初谢宗枋带领谢氏族人迁居连镇,一直到民国初年,大运河便利的交通条件带给了谢氏家族源源不断的财富,但是运河水患不断,也给家族发展带来了巨大隐患,尤其是1917年津南发生了最严重的水灾,造成了地方社会的巨大损失。为了彻底解决水患,在政府慈善政策号召之下,谢庆祺捐款修建了坚固的“谢家坝”。“谢家坝”的建成从根本上解决了连镇段运河的水患问题。同时,谢家坝的建造也成为近代慈善事业发展的典范。
The construction of Xiejiaba is a process of the continuous participation of the Xie family in Lianzhen’s canal construction,which reflects the interdependent relationship between the Xie family and the society of the Grand Canal area.From the early Qing Dynasty,Xie Zongfang led the Xie clan to move to Lian-zhen,until the early Republic of China,the convenient transportation conditions of the Grand Canal brought the Xie family a steady stream of wealth,but the continuous flooding of the canal also brought huge hidden dangers to the family development.Especially in 1917,Jinnan suffered the most serious flood,which caused huge losses to the local society.In order to completely solve the flood,Xie Qingqi donated money to build the Xiejiaba under the charity call of the government.The completion of Xiejiaba fundamentally solved the flood problem in the Lianzhen section of the canal.At the same time,the construction of Xiejiaba has also become a model for the development of modern philanthropy.
