摘要
文章从视域融合的角度对《诗经》理雅各、高本汉、许渊冲与汪榕培和任秀桦四个译本中“上帝”一词的英译进行了考察。研究发现,首先,“上帝”一词在《诗经》中含义丰富;其次,作者视域与文本视域融合的程度决定了翻译的难度,并非决定翻译的质量;最后,在文本视域与译者视域融合程度相似的情况下,文本的最终呈现取决于译者的主体。
This paper investigates the translations of“Shangdi”in four English translations of Shijing,namely James Legge,Bernhard Karlgren,Xu Yuanchong,Wang Rongpei and Ren Xiuhua,from the perspective of fusion of horizons.It finds that,firstly,“shangdi”has rich meanings in Shijing;secondly,the fusion degree of the author's horizon with that of the text determines the extent of difficulty of translation but not the translation quality;and thirdly,with similar extent of fusion of horizons,the translation depends on translator's subjectivity.
