摘要
阅读是一种重要的接受性语言技能,在语言学习中起着重要的作用,而阅读理解能力是衡量大学生英语学习能力的重要标准。在20世纪90年代,杰米·哈默基于PPP(presentation,practice,production)教学模式提出了ESA教学模式,即投入(engage)、学习(study)和激活(activate)。基于这三个元素,高校教师可设计三种不同的课型,即直线型、反弹型和杂拼型。文章旨在证明ESA教学模式在英语阅读教学中的可行性。
Reading is a receptive language skill,which plays an important part in language learning.Students’ability of reading comprehension reflects their English learning capacity.In 1990 s,based on PPP teaching model,Jeremy Harmer put forward ESA,which can be explained as engaging,studying and activating.Meanwhile,based on these three elements,teachers can design three different types of schemes:straight arrows sequence,boomerang sequence and patchwork sequence.This paper aims to prove that ESA teaching model is feasible in English reading teaching.
