摘要
克里斯多夫·戈沙是当代西方著名的越南史研究者,他提出了"去动员化""去例外化""去简单化"等概念。他以现代化为视角考察越南史,摆脱了政治语境叙事。通过横纵向比较研究,戈沙指出越南历史并不"例外",其国家发展史与很多国家类似,南北分裂的状况根植于越南历史的背景环境之下而并非冷战造就的一段"特殊"经历。在研究中,他擅长运用多语种、多形式材料进行综合分析,尤为注意呈现历史的多样性与偶然性。他提出,越南的现代化远比法国殖民者入侵及统治开始的更早,其历史远比"简单"叙事框架下的描述更具复杂性与多样性。戈沙的研究理念、方法与观点对当代越南史研究具有较强的借鉴意义。
Christopher Goscha is a well-known contemporary Vietnamese historian in the West.In his study of Vietnamese history,he proposed a three D’s approach,to"de-mobilize","de-exceptionalize",and"desimplify"issues in Vietnamese history.Moving away from politics,he examines Vietnamese history from the perspective of"modernization".Through comparative studies,he points out that Vietnam’s history is no exception in world history.The history of Vietnam’s national development is similar to that of many other countries.The North-South Division of Vietnam is rooted in the historical context rather than a special experience created by the Cold War.In his study of Vietnamese history,he is good at using multilingual and multiform materials for comprehensive analysis,paying special attention to diversity and contingency.Vietnam,he argues,has not been a S-shaped land since ancient times.In his view,Vietnam’s modernization was much earlier than the French invasion and domination.He points out that Vietnam’s history is far more complex and diverse than the description in the simplistic narrative framework in the past.The questions,methods,and perspectives of Goscha’s research have important reference value to the study of contemporary Vietnamese history.
