摘要
DSP因其优秀的计算性能被广泛应用于诸多电子系统中,而DSP运行速度的提升带来了高动态功耗。使用多电源轨分别对DSP的不同模块供电,并适时调节电源轨电压可以有效地降低DSP的功耗。本文设计了一种可动态调节电源电压、多电源轨的DSP电源管理系统,使用软硬件结合方式进行实现与验证。该系统基于降压型DC-DC变换器和LDO芯片组成多电源轨电路,增加微控制器MCU和数模转换ADC芯片以实现对电源的编程控制。系统用MCU控制并监测电源轨的状态,借助ADC芯片输出模拟电位,实现对多电源轨系统的动态调压、启动时序控制、输出监测。验证电路实测显示该电源管理系统可利用微控制器对10余路电源轨进行编程调压管理。
DSPs are widely used in many kinds of electronic systems because of its outstanding capability of calculation.However,the tradeoff of increasing speed is its high dynamic power consumed.Using multiple power rails to supply modules of DSP,and tuning voltages of the rails at proper time could effectively reduce power consume for DSP.This paper designs a power management system with multiple power rails whose output voltages could be dynamically scaled,which is implemented and verified on board using both software and hardware.Based on several power rails consisting of buck convertors and low dropout regulators,this system is accompanied with a microcontroller and a digital-to-analog converter chip to control the power supplies by coding.The microcontroller is used to control and monitor the status of power rails,while the digital-to-analog converter is used to give analog voltage levels,so that dynamic voltage scaling,power-up sequencing,and voltage monitor are enabled for these power rails.This power management system is tested on printed circuit board,with its functions achieved by microcontroller on more than ten power rails verified.
