International Studies in India originated early but has not been fully developed.Universities and Think Tanks are the main bodies engaged in the study of international relations, and think tanks are more active than universities.International Studies in India are mostly based on the reality and lack of theoretical construction.Kautilya s international thought, the nonviolent thought in Hinduism and non-aligned came up with by Nehru are the heritages in India s international studies. However,Indian scholars pay more attention to the realities of international relations but not the thoughts. There is no obvious distinction between international studies, regional and country studies in India.Indian Scholars are more interested in global governance studies at the global level, especially the BRICS Study, and mainly focus on South Asia studies at the regional level, while they are increasingly interested in China studies at the country level.Indian scholars have begun to rethink the international studies and expect to promote India s contribution to the knowledge growth of the international relations.
