摘要
1988年双包层光纤的发明,改变了光纤激光器只是弱光光源的历史.本文简要回顾双包层光纤发明30年以来高功率光纤激光器的发展史,按照时间顺序选取7个重要里程碑节点,通过对掺镱光纤、大模场光纤、级联泵浦、光束合成等关键技术的剖析,展示光纤激光器输出功率从瓦级到100 kW级的提升过程,介绍光纤激光可实现"任意波长、任意脉宽、任意功率"这一最新成果,展望高功率光纤激光的未来发展和应用前景.
The invention of a double-cladding fiber in 1988 has evolved the conventional view that a fiber laser is only a weak-power source.This paper presents a 30-year evolution of the high-power fiber lasers,including seven important milestones that are summarized according to the time sequence.The key technologies,such as ytterbium-doped fiber,large-mode-area fiber,tandem pumping,and beam combination,are introduced.The promotion of the output power of fiber lasers from the watt-level to 100-kW-level is presented.Finally,the latest research result of the fiber laser summarized as"any wavelength,pulse duration,and power"is reviewed,as well as the development trend and the application prospect of high-power fiber lasers.
