摘要
英语中大多数副词都是以 -ly结尾的 ,这种副词可用作修饰性状语、评注性状语和连接性状语 ;具有替代性、简洁性、多义性和同义性等特点。 -ly副词在英语中相当活跃 ,出现频率高 ,使用范围广 ,涵义容量大 ,在各种语境中皆可见到。文章对英语 -ly副词的以上特点及其汉译方法作了初步探讨。
Most adverbs in English ending with the suffix -ly are widely used and characterized by their substitution,succinctness,synonymity and polysemy. Syntactically,this type of adverbs functions as adjunct,disjunct and conjunct. This paper gives a preliminary discussion on all these features and the ways of translating them from English into Chinese.
