在简述了美国教师教育院校协会(AACTE)的性质、发展历程、当前面临的局势以及为自身变革所作辩护的基础上,本文阐述了该组织针对美国当前最富影响力的教育法律———《不让一个孩子落伍法》(NCLB)提出的七大修正建议,展示了AACTE在美国当前教育改革中的立场与观点。AACTE作为唯一代表教师教育者利益的全国性专业团体,在美国教师教育改革中扮演着举足轻重的角色,其基于教学专业化立场的教育变革主张值得我们分析、批判和借鉴。
