(P<0.05)。 In order to research the effects of swimming stress on lipid peroxidation of hearts and leg muscles in mice,50 Kunming mice were used in the swimming experiment.10 mice selected randomly were sacrificed before swimming and afters swimming for 10,20,30,50 min respectively.Hearts and leg muscles of mice were collected,of which maleic dialdehyde(MDA) content, superoxide dismutase(SOD) activity and glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px) activity were determined by spectrophotometry. The results showed that MDA content in heart tissue of mice after swimming for 10 min was increased significantly(P<0.05),decreased slightly after swiming for 20 and 30 min and increased markedly after swimming for 50 min(P<0.05).SOD and GSH-Px activity of heart tissue had no significant change during the whole swimming progress;MDA content of leg muscles had no significant change during the whole swimming progress.SOD activities of leg muscles after swiming for 10 and 20 min significantly decreased(P<0.05) and then rised slightly,SOD activity of the 50 min group was still lower than that of the control group(P<0.05).GSH-Px activity of leg muscle during the swimming process continued to rise and increased markedly in the 40 min group(P<0.05).
