Kumarajiva and Turfan Buddhism in the Northern Liang Dynasty

摘要 It is apparent from Chinese Historical accounts that Buddhism was well established in Tulfan inthe Northem Liang LiDnsty. Dyansty Formation the situation should be attributed to the influence of Kumarajiva at least in a sense. This fact is corroborated by the finds of manuscripts and Buddest cavesand stone inscription for Turfan. The men in power, fro example, the king Juqu Anzhou and others allbelongs to the disciples of Kumarajiva who tranlated many Buddhist suave which spread from westChina to Korea and It is apparent from Chinese Historical accounts that Buddhism was well established in Tulfan inthe Northem Liang LiDnsty.
