Abstract Recently,quite a number of experts and scholars have been offering advice for the development of Wuhan's tourism industry.However,Wuhan's tourism is still at a low ebb.This article makes a summary and rethinks Wuhan's development tactic of tourism industy since 1980s.It raises new thinking of developing Wuhan's tourism,i.e,with a stress of developing Wuhan's urban tourism.The article offers the following suggestions on the building of Wuhan's urban tourism:digging out the new value of the old scenic spots,developing scenic spots with new characteristics,developing fitness and leisure tourism and strengthening planning consciousness.
