摘要
近年来,英语快速阅读日益受到人们的重视,不仅外语院校和许多理工科大学开设了快速阅读课程,而且一些外语强化短训班也相应设立了这一课程。但关于快速阅读教学的效果及其它有关问题,尚未明了。1987年下学期,笔者对一个英语短训班进行了快速阅读教学实验。现就这次教学情况作一些探讨,与同行们商榷。
An experiment of a 26-member class in fast reading is reported, discussing the relationship between (1) reading speed, (2) comprehension, and (3) unfamiliar vocabulary. The author also looks at the psychological mechanisms involved in such training. It is suggested that a fast-reading syllabus might be designed with two stages of 4-5 weeks and 3-4 weeks each, the first for orientation and the second for consolidation. An 8-week unit might be followed by another in the course of a 20-week term.
