1 过去与现状1.1 词汇教学研究是外语教学研究中的薄弱环节在国内外外语教学研究中,与语法教学和语音教学研究相比,词汇教学是最薄弱的环节。这主要是因为: 1.语言教学研究依赖于语言研究。
This paper is devoted to exploring the learning and teaching theories of foreifn languagevocabulary. In the first of the two parts, the weakness of the research in this field has beeranalysed; the research work in basic and nuclear English reviewed; some questions on thestudy of psycholinguistic process of foreign vocabulary learning and using have been raised. I?the second and more important part, the author clearly shows the complex involvement of foreign and native words in the learners' mind. Two new concepts——the meaning image and thword expressing——have been initiated in order to get rid of the contrast of word-meaing (co?cept) in foreign language teaching research. Effective vocabulary practice in and out of clasdepends upon the learners' effective use of the meaning image which can be created by thewell-developed preschema, and upon which their communicative competence depends. Thereforthe learners' primary task is to develop expressing rather than communicative competence.
