udging from Dunhuang Manuscripts, historical data and on-the-spat investiga-tion, we can come to the following conclusion that there was an oasis between the twooaseo of Ganzhou and Shazhou from the Han to Tang periods. The area of the oasis wasabout 200 square kilonietres. There are still many historical remains in the areas. Thepresent paper gives a detailed textual research on some of the historicat sites. They arethe site of the ancient city of Wukeshujing (It was Dongxiang county town of Dunhuangprefecture in the Northern wei and western wei) , the site of city of Tianshujing Nol(where garrison was stationed from the Hon to Northern Dynasties) , the site of the an-cient city of Tianlaoba (where Xuan quan post was in the Tang Dynastyl and the site ofJieting post in the Tang Dynasty. Finally , the paper discusses the reasons and process ofwhich the oasis was burried by sand movement.
