摘要
影响MBA教学质量的因素已经得到了广泛讨论,然而MBA教育对其毕业生职业生涯的影响尚有待深入分析。本文基于资源基础理论,探讨了高管接受MBA教育对其离职和提升的影响,并探讨了企业所有制和企业选择高管方式的市场化程度等权变因素对上述关系的调节作用。基于1991~2005年中国上市公司及其高管数据的实证分析表明,高管接受MBA教育有助于其保留职位,但是对其提升的影响不显著;同时,企业所有制和企业选择高管方式的市场化程度对上述关系具有调节作用。
While the effectiveness of teaching and learning in MBA education have been widely discussed, the impact of MBA education on the MBA graduates’ career has been largely neglected. We use the resource-based theory of the firm to shed light on this issue. We longitudinally analyzed how MBA education influenced top managers’ exit and promotion between 1991 and 2005, placing this process in the context of Chinese firms’ human resource development changes. It is found out that the top managers with MBA degrees enjoy greater job security, but not more promotional opportunities. This relationship is also moderated by such contingency factors as firm ownership and the marketization of top manager selection mode.
