摘要
随着人类社会不断地向前发展，学校，尤其是现代大学的社会职能发生了很大的变化。现代大学的社会职能已经不限于教育（当然培养人仍然是现代大学的根本任务），而发展成为培养人才、发展科学和直接为社会服务这样三项社会职能。因此，正确认识学校与教育之间的联系与区别和现代大学的本质及其运行规律，既是教育理论中的一个十分重要的基本问题，也是建立现代大学制度的理论基础。
With the continuous development of human society, school, especially modern university's social function has changed tremendously. The social function of modern university has not confined itself to education only, but developed three social functions---to cultivate talent, to develop science and to directly serve society. Therefore it is not only an important basic problem in education theory but also the theoretical base for establishing modern university institution to recognize correct contact and difference between school and education, the essence and running law of modern university.
