Polypropylenes grafted maleic anhydride with different graft ratio have been prepared,and their isothermal crystallization kinetics have been investigated by means of DSC.The physical and chemical mechanisms that the malei anhydride reduces the surface free energy of radial growth of PP spherulite, increases its crystallization rate and decreases its crystallinity, are demonstrated. The influence of maleic anhydride grafting in PP on mechanism of spherulite growth and nucleation is discussed.
