摘要
China has the largest elderly population in the world.In 1990,the population aged 60 years and older approached 100 million,accounting for 8.6%of the total population.Compared with population aging in other countries,the situation in China is characterized by wo suriking features:(1)a huge number of elderly people in the population,and(2)the process of population aging occurring even though economic development is still at a relatively low level Population projections show that the age structure of China's population has changed:China has'a mature population pattern and aging is accelerating.
