摘要
"无定称说"曾一度是现代学者关于周代爵制研究的主流观点,其缺陷是十分显著的。文章阐述了明辨爵位等级在周礼中的重要性:正"班爵"之位,是周礼等级观念的内在要求;爵位是外交礼仪中确定诸侯位次和使者礼遇规格的主要依据,也是衡量贡赋轻重的主要依据。爵称必须具有唯一性,才能实现上述功能。不具备区分等级功能的名号,不能视为爵称。
Due to the complexity of ranks of nobilities and the scarcity of studies on the literature handed down,some scholars in modern times refused to accept the five ranks of nobilities in Zhou Dynasty,which had a great impact on the academic circles.This paper discusses the importance of the ranks of nobilities in the system of Li in Zhou Dynasty and indicates that the rank of nobilities is the main basis of the monarchical order of precedence,and also a basis of the tribute quantity.In order to achieve the above functions,the name of each rank of nobility must be unique,without it,nobody could be called Jue.
