从构词手段、修辞手段、语音手段、符号手段等方面论述了英语委婉语的构成方式,指出英语委婉语具有美化和淡化的功能特点,简述了英语委婉语的主要使用场合。
In people's daily life, on some occasions, people often use certain euphemistic terms or phrases to replace those considered unpleasant, rude, or offensive to make it sound better or more implicit. Getting some ideas of the forms, functions, and applied occasions of English euphemisms will be much helpful for English lovers to deeply understand the English language and culture. This paper expounds on the forms and applied occasions of English euphemisms, and introduces its functions as well.
