A borrowed concept of “androgyny” from feminists' criticism is employed here as a trope to refer to a new type of relations between authors and translators. After a review of its evolvement, it accordingly indicates that an inevitable shift of relations between authors and translators is destined to occur. To advocate “androgyny” between authors and translators seems a better means to maintain a balance between those two poles and further to bring translators' subjectivity into a full play.
